The Center for Aquaculture Technologies
Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing animal production sectors, now generating approximately 50% of the world’s fish and shellfish supply. With capture fisheries reaching or exceeding maximum sustainable limits, aquaculture is poised for further expansion to meet future global demands for seafood products. To support expansion, aquaculture will require new advancements aimed at enhancing the efficiency, economic viability, and sustainability of the industry.
The Center for Aquaculture Technologies was founded in 2012, with a focus on catalyzing improvements in aquaculture productivity through the use of cell and nucleic acid-based technologies.
The company utilizes its experience in aquaculture, coupled with a strong background in the development and application of cellular and molecular technologies and informatics, to provide research-based solutions and contract services for the industry.
